Paris Hilton Club Slated For Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Hotel heiress Paris Hilton may be opening an ultrachic nightspot in downtown Jacksonville.

The club would be the second in Florida in her chain, which already includes Orlando and has plans for venues in Miami Beach, New York, Las Vegas, London and Paris.

Jacksonville Landing owner Toney Sleiman said he and Club Paris executives have been negotiating, but have not come to terms on a contract. Club Paris owners announced the grand opening of the club on July 4 on their Web site.

Sleiman said Hilton would attend the ribbon-cutting, if the club does open in Jacksonville.

City officials said the opening of the club heralds the rise in national acclaim the city has received in the past five years, including hosting the 2005 Super Bowl.

Hilton is known for her television series "The Simple Life" and her infamous sex tape.
